Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Plan, schedule, and track the shipment of final products in accordance with customer requirements, based on product availability and transportation costs.
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Resolve any issues or delays that arise during the transportation or delivery process.
- Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to support logistics operations.
- Lead initiatives to identify and implement process improvements within the logistics function.
- Identify opportunities for resource optimization or reallocation to improve efficiency and performance.
- Maintain equipment & inventory stock, establishing item counts in the system to include minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Coordinate and perform physical inventories to assure accuracy and completeness of all inventory reports.
- Reorder items on an as-needed basis, as stock items deplete.
- Maintain logistics-related records and reports and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs documentation.
- Present findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making.
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding logistics-related matters.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other partners to support effective collaboration and communication.
- Resolve disputes or conflicts with stakeholders and escalate issues to higher management when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements pertaining to logistics.
- Attend training sessions as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in the transportation and warehousing industry
- Knowledge of US trade law and compliance
- Familiarity with ACE and other compliance tools
- Considerable experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Working knowledge of various warehouse and transportation management systems
- IATA DGR Training preferred
- Transportation-related licenses, certifications, or training preferred
