Job Description

A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking a Warehouse Associate (Service Center) to support daily warehouse operations and ensure accurate order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-minded team player with strong attention to detail. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the new hire will keep materials moving efficiently by pulling orders, operating equipment, and loading/unloading trucks while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Saturday (as needed) 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Location: Houston, TX 77075
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities:

Fill orders for customers per pick ticket instructions, double check size, grade, quantity and heat numbers.
Communicate effectively, read and follow all customer special instructions listed on pick tickets.
Pull material for transfers.
Load and unload of incoming and outgoing trucks.
Cut materials for stock and for customers using saws, shear, iron worker and burning table.
Double check orders and ensure correct materials are pulled for each order.
Fill out required paperwork, customer labels and equipment inspection reports.
Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner, report safety concerns to the Supervisor and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Operate forklifts and cranes to move material.
Crosstrain and support all areas of the warehouse as needed.
Display the ability to use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers.
Use PPE as required.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent
Must have some general knowledge of structural steel, pipe and plate steel from past experience
Ability to stand, lift, climb and perform various other physical functions
Must be able to handle, lift and carry steel parts up to 50 lbs.
Must work well with others and be a team player
Position requires complete physical agility, mobility and dexterity
Display the ability to accurately use basic math skills
Ability to read pick tickets, tape measurers, and other measuring devices
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
