Job Description
A fast-growing manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist to operate and set up CNC equipment for precision production. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and experienced machinist comfortable with program edits and inspection tools. Working with autonomy, the new hire will support efficient production by maintaining tolerance standards while adapting to changing priorities and customer demands.

Hours: M-Th 6:30am- 5:00 pm and Fri 6:30am-4:00pm

Location: Cypress, TX 77433

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, including performing chuck/collet changeovers, soft-jaw prep, indicating, tooling, touch-offs, and work offsets.
- Select and optimize turning tools, boring bars, and inserts for peak performance and surface finish.
- Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools such as mics, calipers, indicators, and pin/thread gages to ensure ±0.0005" tolerance.
- Adapt and adjust to shifting production priorities to meet customer demands.
- Follow manufacturing schedules while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to contribute to a professional and productive shop environment.
- Deburr and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications before and after machining.
Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving skills to fix issues such as chatter, taper, and finish without waiting on programming
- Experience with setup, operation, and program editing on CNC lathes
- Working knowledge of Haas and/or Fanuc controls
- Fluency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T specs
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges
- A safety-minded approach to all operations
- The ability to effectively manage multiple machine operations with minimal supervision
- A team player with self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- The willingness to adjust to changing priorities to meet customer needs
- The physical ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
