Job Description

A leading aviation infrastructure company is seeking a National Property Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance and operational excellence across its nationwide network of hangars and FBOs. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on facilities leader with deep expertise in multi-site property management and aviation infrastructure. Working collaboratively, the new leader will enhance safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction by implementing preventative maintenance programs, optimizing vendor relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance while driving operational efficiency and service excellence across all locations.

Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Facility Management
  • Develop, implement, and enforce internal Maintenance Programs with structured daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual checks.
  • Standardize maintenance practices across all campuses to ensure consistent service quality.
  • Ensure site teams maintain adequate on-hand stock of commonly used parts and consumables, based on historical maintenance issues and predictive needs.
  • Oversee emergency repairs and ensure minimal downtime of facilities.
Vendor & Contract Management
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with vendors for critical services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hangar doors, epoxy flooring, and HVLS fans.
  • Build and maintain a vetted list of regional and national vendors capable of supporting specialized repair and maintenance needs.
  • Monitor vendor performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with service-level agreements.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and local building codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, documenting conditions and corrective actions.
  • Maintain environmental compliance, including fuel storage, stormwater management, and waste disposal.
  • Coordinate with airport authorities and regulatory bodies on maintenance-related matters.
Operations & Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage the national maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Track and report on maintenance KPIs, downtime, and repair costs.
  • Partner with finance and leadership to forecast capital improvement and lifecycle replacement needs.
Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a network of on-site Property Maintenance Technicians at each campus.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure adherence to company standards and safety protocols.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and proactive maintenance.
Strategic Planning
  • Support new development projects by collaborating with design and construction teams to ensure operational readiness at turnover.
  • Recommend and implement technology solutions for facility monitoring, work order management, and reporting.
  • Continuously assess opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and client experience.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in multi-site property/facility maintenance management; aviation, FBO, or hangar experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience negotiating Master Service Agreements and managing vendor networks
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, flooring, and hangar door systems
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Financial acumen in budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor management
  • Ability to travel frequently nationwide to inspect and support facilities
