Location: La Porte, TX 77571
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders, pulling materials, packing boxes, placing orders in the delivery area.
- Accurately sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock, orders, printing requests, recording amounts of materials or items received through computer software.
- Work will call counter and assist customers with products selection.
- Participate in physical inventory count.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner (e.g. forklifts, trucks, power tools).
- Assist in inventory control.
- Prepare freight quotes for shipments as required.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse.
- Report any safety hazard immediately to management.
- Adhere to all OSHA Safety regulations.
- Manage and organize warehouse.
- Load out trailers when orders are placed.
Requirements:
- One year warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Ability to follow instructions given by Warehouse Operations Manager
- Capacity to work with others in a team environment under a variety of circumstances
- Basic skill to operate various types of warehouse equipment in a safe manner
- Be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, sweep, dust and mop
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
- Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work required
