Lathe Operator

Job Description
Salary: $20-23/hr
Location: Katy, TX 77493
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety standards and rules, including proper PPE.
- Maintain clean & organized work area.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned machines.
- Achieve standard of 100% efficiency.
- Follow & utilize Misquote Work Instructions.
- Comply with all quality standards and rules, including properly filling out first article reports and following Charting Working Instructions.
- Achieve standard of one (1) or less internal rejects per quarter.
- Has complete understanding of reporting requirements by properly following JobBoss Workstation Driver Working Instructions.
- Limit scrap material to a minimum.
- Assist with the training of operators as directed by supervisor to produce high level results.
- Responsible for observing safety and security procedures as applicable and reporting potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Requirements:
- Complete understanding and competence of mechanical spring lathe machines
- Complete understanding and competence of CNC spring lathe machines
- Complete understanding and competence of handwinders
- Complete understanding and competence of all single end style grinders
- Complete understanding and competence of all shot peen equipment
- Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable
- Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem-solving situations
- Technical Skills - Assess own strengths and weaknesses; Pursue training and development opportunities; Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills; Share expertise with others
- Communication - Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills: JobBoss Workstation Driver
- Forklift License
