Job Description
A well-established, innovative Chemical Manufacturing & Services company is looking for a Human Resources Manager responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function. This is a perfect opportunity for a strategic leader with thorough knowledge of HR functions and best practices. Working cross-functionally, the new manager will increase business efficiency by developing HR strategies & initiatives while promoting & implementing the organization’s human resource values.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement human resources strategies, policies, and procedures that support the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations/performance management, training & development, compensation & benefits, leaves of absences, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws & regulations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, management, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, employee handbooks, and other HR-related documentation.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits and wellness programs.
- Manage the HR budget and ensure HR operations are cost-effective and efficient.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors in the areas of employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
- Process multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees (experience with CA preferred)
- Perform additional projects/duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources Manager or strategic role
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources activities
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Paylocity (or similar service bureau such as ADP, Paycor, etc.)
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication
- Ability to think creatively and challenge the status-quo
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Payroll and Benefits, including but not limited to 401K, FSA, HSA, and Section 125
- Expertise in HR policies and procedures
- Has multi-state experience; CA preferred
- Chemical (Hazmat) and Logistics Company experience preferred
