Job Description
A leading pipe manufacturing company in the oil & gas industry is looking for a General Manager of Manufacturing responsible for all functions of machine shops. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader who knows about threading and is familiar with computer lathes. Reporting to the COO, the new GM will meet/exceed the manufacturing goals of the business by maximizing productivity while ensuring company safety policies & procedures are being followed.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise machine shop operations at 3 locations. Supervise cleaning unit operations and prepare report of activities.
- Coordinate jobs with the office and assure smooth paperwork flow.
- Write and prove out new programs.
- Set up program and/or check each job.
- Work with COO on promotion or termination decisions.
- Assure that all shops are kept clean and free of safety hazards and that any environmental concerns are addressed.
- Assure that company safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Purchase of material for machine shop repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors on machine shop repairs for new installations.
Requirements:
- Supervisory experience
- Familiar with computer lathes
- Understanding of computers and ability to program
- Able to work around solvents
- Familiar with hydraulic systems
- Familiar with pneumatic systems
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Preferred experience includes:
- 5-7 years of thread experience
- Computer school
- Able to certify gauges
- Familiar with API, Semi Premium, and Premium Connections
