A world-leading company in the field of safety & risk management and advanced dispersion, explosion, and fire modeling is looking for a Fire and Explosion Risk Consultant to support its consulting business in the US and the global business, as required. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter with a strong technical background in combustion and/or fire dynamics. Interacting with clients, the new team member will positively impact the business by effectively performing job functions while exercising discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment.

Responsibilities:
- Use empirical and CFD-based dispersion, explosion, and fire models to perform consequence studies.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and assessments.
- Write technical reports.
- Verbally interact with and present findings to clients.
- Support company US marketing and business development efforts.
Requirements:
- Experience with both empirical and CFD-based dispersion, explosion, and fire consequence studies
- Experience with hazard consequence analysis, such as deflagration and explosion dynamics, explosion overpressure effects, unconfined vapor cloud explosions, BLEVEs, and flame radiation
- Strong technical background in combustion and/or fire dynamics
- Notable experience with requirements for siting studies or fire & blast studies such as: API 752/753/756, US 49 CFR 193 Subpart B, NFPA 59A (2001+), ISO 17776:2002, ISA-TR84.00.07, CAP437/HSAC RP 161/162, API RP 521
- Familiar with typical processes and hazards encountered in refineries, offshore installations, and LNG facilities, including various treatment and liquefaction processes and actual operational concerns
- Experience performing quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and assessments
- High quality written and verbal communication skills in English (both for general communications and technical reports)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter
- Able to work under critical time deadlines and to re-evaluate priorities while exercising discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment
- Experienced in market research, segmentation, and building a sales pipeline with a track record of identifying and closing competitive deals
- Experienced in managing complex projects and maintaining organization and quality under schedule pressure
- Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Knowledge, familiarity, and contacts with operators and EPCs; existing relationship(s) with US regulators such as Coast Guard, PHMSA & FERC will be advantageous
