Job Description

A fast-growing technology provider and systems integrator specializing in environmental solutions is looking for a Field Service Technician responsible for managing, coordinating, and executing the installation, start-up, and service of industrial project equipment. The ideal candidate possesses extensive expertise in industrial maintenance coupled with proficient mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude. As a valuable team player, the new member will drive operational excellence through effective planning, supervision, and prompt & cost-effective deliverables while ensuring client satisfaction and upholding the highest quality & safety standards.

Location: Remote (Heavy Travel Required)
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Perform Field Services
    • Responsible for the supervision and management of maintenance services, installation, and start-up of the project equipment.
    • Generate and submit timely reports for all field activities.
    • Maintain effective communications on project status to customer and office project team.  
    • Achieve quality workmanship for all site activities (installations, start-ups, service visits). Target zero costs or complaints due to poor quality, mistakes, and oversights.
    • Control safety on job sites and maintain zero accident level.
  • Implement Service Strategies
    • Support the implementation of service strategies to achieve business objectives.
    • Identify and engage potential new customers to expand our service reach.
    • Drive sales of spare parts, add-on products, system upgrades, and retrofits to existing clients.
    • Understand the existing installation base, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED; Certificate from trade school (pipefitter, electrician, welding) is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance (millwright, pipefitter, electrician, instrument technician) in a group lead role
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 80% Domestic and International
  • Basic computer skills using software, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and tool skills
  • Physical:
    • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, with reasonable accommodation
    • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
    • Ability to work in confined spaces
    • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
    • Ability to support unplanned site visits based on customer requirements
  • Preferred skills include:
    • Effective planning, scheduling, and management of materials and labor resources
    • Fundamental understanding of industrial equipment and systems, including maintenance, lifting/rigging, steel fabrication welding, piping, fans, pumps, instruments, control panel wiring & controls, PLCs, and field wiring
    • Ability to troubleshooting and repair mechanical and electrical problems
    • Ability to decipher engineering drawings and electrical schematics, and mark-up installation as-builds
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with the project team and customers, including negotiation and sales abilities
    • Complete understanding of industrial work site safety procedures, with the ability to enforce and supervise safety requirements, including OSHA 10 Hr. Compliance course, LOTO, and Confined Space protocols
