Job Description

A global leader in the midstream oil & gas industry is seeking an Equipment Engineer to support the commissioning, repair, and maintenance of specialized equipment across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is experienced in electrical control systems and mechanical principles. Working collaboratively, the new team member will promote operational excellence by troubleshooting and optimizing equipment performance while ensuring reliability and efficiency in operations.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chemical injection equipment across the US and Canada.
  • Diagnose and repair control system issues (i.e., PLCs or similar), ensuring proper operation and resolving any signal, function, or sensor concerns.
  • Ensure equipment reliability by planning and executing scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in the commissioning and installation of new equipment at customer sites.
  • Collaborate with the team to document equipment maintenance, repair schedules, and operational data.
  • Analyze the performance of pumps, fluid flow systems, and related components to identify areas for improvement and prevent premature wear.
  • Support the handover and training of site personnel on the operation and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintain full compliance with HSE standards during field operations, and ensure safe and effective equipment use.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry (or adjacent), with a focus on industrial equipment support
  • Strong understanding of controls systems and troubleshooting electrical components
  • Mechanical aptitude, including familiarity with pumps, fluid systems, and general mechanical principles
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and innovative approaches to resolving technical challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Willingness to travel domestically (up to 50%) and internationally (up to 10%)
