Job Description

A global leader in industrial manufacturing is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial maintenance with a proven technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. In a collaborative environment, the new team member will ensure operational efficiency by performing preventative maintenance and repairs while continuously improving electrical systems and responding to any issues in a timely manner.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM, and some Saturdays

Responsibilities:
  • Read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Assist in installation, remodeling, retrofits and rehabilitates equipment and buildings as needed.
  • Communicate with the various Maintenance departments to maintain a productive and satisfying work environment.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management and or Engineering of any hazards or defects.
  • Respond to work orders and ride downtime calls in a timely manner.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of electrical components.
  • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
  • Perform electrical problem solving and assist with all aspects of electrical troubleshooting.
  • Use computer systems to perform diagnostics on electronic components and PLC system.
  • Uses appropriate tools, such as multi meter, ampere meter, hand and power tools, etc.
  • Bend conduit and replace old wiring.
  • Use skills and abilities to identify faulty equipment and identify parts and equipment needed to complete repairs.
  • Install/repair control and distribution mechanisms, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, as well as conduit and wire.
  • Repair critical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects such as electrical hardware upgrades.

Requirements:
  • Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician
  • Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
  • PLC proficient
  • Experience reading technical drawings, electrical & pneumatic schematics
  • At least six (6) years of relevant electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted on occasion
  • Ability to understand detailed electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Ability to effectively diagnose machine electrical and mechanical system malfunctions and concisely detail root cause(s) of malfunctions
  • Must be able to use analog and digital multimeters
  • Willing to work any shift
  • Able to express basic electronic principles used in electrical maintenance technician work assignments
