Type of Position: Direct Hire
Salary: 160,000-$165,000 + 10% bonus
Responsibilities:
- Work cross functionally to facilitate development, implementation, and management of patient services and programs across all relevant therapeutic areas while executing continuous improvement measures.
- Understand the needs of the patients and Health Care Professionals within the Healthcare environment and ensure programs are executed to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with sales, account management, clinical, and other functional leaders to ensure that services and service strategies are operationalized to customer and patient level action plans.Â
- Provide input for strategic decisions such as determining appropriate operational staffing levels in advance of new business, technology enhancements to improve efficiency, scheduling of staff to meet guidelines, and regulatory controls.
- Schedule and maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure operations run smoothly within budget.
- Oversee workflow; identify problem areas and implement process improvements.
- Oversee purchasing for pharmacy operations, including drugs, and required supplies. Manage inventory to plan.
- Ensure all prescriptions are verified, filled, and dispensed accurately, timely and within budget.
- Demonstrate understanding of applicable pharmacy laws and regulations and uses that knowledge to enhance relevant job activities.
- Apply knowledge of current and emerging professional standards and leading methodologies to drive effective recommendations for enhancements to existing practices.
- Plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, tools, and templates.
- Ensure preparation for organizational growth by developing, coaching, managing performance of and assessing competencies of team members.
- Ensure ongoing education of members, providers, and pharmacy staff members in proper medication use, drug interactions, recalls, supply issues, benefit issues, or side effect management.
- Provide guidance on options and alternatives based on benefit plans, treatment, and related pharmaceutical care to influence compliance and proper use.
- Keep current with current drug information including recalls, monograph/insert revisions, and supply issues.
- Stay current with procedural changes and other departmental training.
- Demonstrate accountability to timelines and commitments.
- Facilitate development of strategic initiatives for patient supportive services.
- Oversee ongoing management for all assigned programs.
- Oversee all team scheduling to meet the client’s business and reporting needs.
- Understand and ensure all programs are compliant with all client contract terms, and that all patient services programs adhere to all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to any standard operating policies and/or work instructions.
- Directly supervise all employees in the program in accordance with company business policies.
- Develop staffing algorithms, training employees; responsible for planning, assigning, and execution of work; address any complaints or escalated issues to complete resolution, and attend any client meetings as necessary.
- Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate activities with other supervisors.
- Align departmental goals with client requirements and business policies.
- Responsible for staff attainment for all goals and objectives, and report activities to senior leadership on a consistent basis.
- Work within budgetary/ financial objectives set by manager.
- Identify specific opportunities for long-term change.
- Build customer relationships, interpret customer needs, and assess their business requirements.
- Ensure staff understands and supports the focus on operational excellence.
- Actively build relationships across functions/businesses that bring value to the company, encouraging the participation and perspectives of all team members.
- Effectively listen to and communicate with all stakeholders to ensure understanding by all parties and build alignment.
- Track KPIs associated with patient support programs/services and ensure feedback mechanism in place with regular reviews
- Use program KPIs to measure program process efficiencies and adjust when required.
Requirements:
- Valid state (Texas) pharmacist license
- Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
- Five (5)+ years of experience in management of pharmacy operations leading, managing & coaching successful teams.
- Three (3)+ years of experience in management of infusion operations
- Seven (7) or more years of progressive pharmacy operations management experience
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
