Job Description
A leading distributor of carbon and stainless pipe, fittings, and flanges is looking for a Director of Facilities & Construction responsible for directing and managing its diverse team of facilities and project managers. The ideal candidate is a team player well-versed in all construction methodologies & procedures and knows facilities management. Working collaboratively, the new leader will drive operational excellence by ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while maintaining adherence to all health & safety standards.

Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and management to determine specifications on new projects.
- Oversee development and implementation of construction schedules for projects and reporting to upper management on a regular basis for all team members.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of draw schedules, project logs in addition to teams coordination with accounting on bills and collections.
- Oversee negotiations on contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Oversee the determination of needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Oversee the review and processing of change order requests and submission of change orders to client(s).
- Work with project managers, facilities managers, estimators, and superintendents on developing project budgets and value engineering.
- Oversee the planning of construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Assist in acquiring equipment and material and monitoring stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
- Oversee adherence to all health and safety standards by superintendent(s) and report issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in building construction, building science, architecture, or engineering preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of experience with project management, facilities management, and/or construction management required
- Must have experience with commercial ground-up and renovation projects
- Diversity of project types is ideal
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledgeable in construction/project management software (Procore, MaxPanda, Sage, Asana, etc.) preferred
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Integrity and accountability with a strong desire to grow and expand
- A team player with leadership abilities
