Job Description

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and refine innovative mechanical products that meet customer and performance requirements. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented engineer with strong 3D CAD skills, product design experience, and a collaborative mindset. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the new team member will contribute to engineering excellence by designing, testing, and supporting product development while maintaining technical documentation, collaborating cross-functionally, and driving continuous improvement in design processes.

Salary + Additional Benefits: 
  • $115,000-$120,000

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Design, develop, and test products to meet customer requirements.
  • Generate and review production drawings for newly developed products.
  • Perform product support functions for both internal and external customers.
  • Plan and track product development efforts.
  • Maintain client communications and update technical documents.
  • Provide additional support for design drawings as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • 3+ years of product design experience
  • Skilled with 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis, and Fluid Dynamics modeling
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of databases, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  •  Functions effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Inventor and Vault from Autodesk
  • 1+ years of experience in Gate or Butterfly Valve Design
  • Excellent corrosion management skills
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engine operating criteria
  • Excellent thermodynamics skills
  • Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and electronic valve actuation design 
  • DFMEA and PPAP
