Job Description

A leading distributor of carbon and stainless pipe, fittings, and flanges is looking for a Cycle Counter/Inventory to maintain storage facilities, ensure the accuracy of inventory records, compile balance, price, and cost reports, and perform weekly counts of all products. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized candidate with excellent interpersonal communication skills and knows data reconciliation & report building. Working closely with management, the new hire will drive operational efficiency by ensuring the highest level of accuracy & organizational effectiveness while maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Location: Houston, TX 77051

Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: 7am - 5pm (Some Saturdays)

Responsibilities:

Track inventory maintenance.
Control flows of equipment and supplies.
Report to management and advise on process improvements.
Coordinate and direct multiple teams.
Develop loss mitigation processes and protocols.
Train less experienced inventory workers.
Compile inventory reports.
Address any problems, obstacles, or challenges.
Forecast future inventory requirements.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Working knowledge of word processor, database and spreadsheet software
Ability to analyze and conceptualize different inventory data to make informed managerial decisions
Data reconciliation and report building
Ability to lead a team and manage people
Reporting of purchasing/order/distribution statistics or deviations and being able to present this data in context
Basic theory of accounting (really basic)
Scheduling of inventory functions/counts
Basic data entry
Ability to communicate in a professional setting
Cost in relation to inventory transactions and adjustments
Able to work weekends on occasion
