Location: West Houston, TX – On-Site
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a cost accounting system to ensure accurate product costing.
- Analyze standard vs. actual costs, identify variances, and prepare detailed reports.
- Update and maintain standard costs, ensuring accuracy in BOMs.
- Analyze the financial impact of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services.
- Collect and study data related to raw material purchases, inventory, and labor to determine overall business activity costs.
- Prepare monthly gross margin analysis reports by customer, part number, and production job.
- Perform account reconciliations for physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Prepare periodic inventory reserve reconciliations and risk analysis, working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by analyzing inventory and preparing supplemental reports.
- Produce daily production, variance, and ad hoc financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
- Track construction project expenses, perform cost analysis, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Monitor construction contracts and change orders for accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing cost accounting; additional experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience working with large datasets or databases is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with integrated ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory processes, and cost accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it applies to manufacturing environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret data and make sound recommendations.
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
