Job Description

A leading alternative asset management company has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to manage all accounting activities. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical problem-solver with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. Reporting to the Controller, the new team member will meet the company’s financial objectives by ensuring accuracy and effective implementation of accounting methods & best practices while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Location: Austin, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Record fund transactions daily in the general ledger and own the cash reconciliation/ forecasting process.
  • Process weekly partnerships’ capital calls, including wires and recording of Journal entries.
  • Record receipt of partnerships’ distributions, including the preparation of Journal entries.
  • Manage the account payable process for multiple Funds.
  • Manage underlying partnerships’ quarterly report and statements.
  • Assist in the quarterly investment valuation and quarterly close of the Funds’ general ledgers along with the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting for multiple investment vehicles.
  • Provide support for the annual audit and related financial statements and footnotes.
  • Assist with routine and ad-hoc reporting and information requests.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5+ years of relative accounting experience, preferably in an alternative investment environment
  • Strong analytical skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete projects in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to operate independently and proactively in order to manage multiple tasks across the Funds’ platform
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows suite (advanced Excel is a plus)
