Job Description

A fast-growing business process outsourcing firm has an excellent opportunity for a Controller to oversee its high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst with a thorough understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis. Working closely with the President and CEO, the new leader will help improve operational efficiency by streamlining budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes while adhering to national and local legal standards.

Location: The Woodlands, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets, and actual expenditures.
  • Establish (in coordination with CEO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Build, develop, oversee, and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
  • Serve as the principal adviser to the CEO on all aspects of resource management to include financial, budgeting, programming, management analysis, commercial activities, and internal controls.
  • Maximize efficiencies, organize work processes & procedures, and automate procedures through system improvements.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10 or more years of professional accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting (GAAP)
  • Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
  • Exemplary history of financial project management
  • Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Five or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
  • CPA
  • Oracle or NetSuite applications a plus
