Job Description

An industrial services company is looking for a Controller to join their team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and finance management. Our client is seeking someone with leadership experience who can fine tune processes and procedures within the accounting department.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting, including the coordination of all regulatory filings.
Direct annual audits and partner with external auditors to uphold accurate financial monitoring and reporting standards.
Assist with the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor financial performance by analyzing results, addressing variances, and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, cost management initiatives, and performance evaluations.
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk.
Oversee cash flow management, maintain banking relationships, and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
Stay current on evolving accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous process improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
5+ years of proven experience as a Controller in an industrial industry
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
Exceptional analytical skills, with a focus on financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
