Job Description
Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Cleveland, TX 77328
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Have complete ownership of the general ledger and must have deep knowledge of accounting principles
- Establish internal controls, segregation of duties, and guidelines for accounting transactions.
- Handle vendor and customer set-ups and ongoing maintenance.
- Manage overall payables and collections process, including creating the weekly check run and ensuring timely collection of receivables.
- Work with senior management and investors to develop annual budget preparation.
- Prepare business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Responsible for working with outside accounting firm on tax planning throughout the fiscal year.
- Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinate with outside auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audit.
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Wear many hats and must be able to serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO. Current tasks are largely manual and paper driven. Need a visionary to evolve processes into the digital world and expedite completion without sacrificing accuracy.
- Lead a team both locally and internationally. Need to train, delegate, and monitor. Must also have a deep knowledge of all current processes so you have a basis for driving changes.
- Lead the implementation of a new inventory control system and integrate it with the accounting software. Work with people in the office and with the software support team to plan and implement according to best practices.
- Handle multiple entities. The financials must be clean, accurate, and defendable upon audit. Create new record-keeping systems and improve upon current systems.
Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant or working on completion, preferred
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in manufacturing and cost accounting
- Experience with major software implementations and related change management
- Experience with major accounting software implementations preferred
- Experience with bookkeeping and review is necessary
- 5+ years of experience and deep working knowledge of:
- Sage 50 accounting
- QuickBooks Enterprise or Online
- Acctivate inventory software
- Microsoft apps such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint
- An entrepreneurial self-starter who does not need to be micro-managed
- An aggressive leader who embraces change and knows how to get work done
- An independent and outside-the-box thinker
- An accountant who loves numbers, understands the story the numbers are telling, and does not stop until the books are pristine, accurate, and complete
