Job Description

A world leader in the oil & gas industry is looking for a Communications Manager to support the development, management, and delivery of its integrated communications strategy and plan. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a flexible mindset, capable of quickly adjusting to changes and innovations. In collaboration with the Communications Team, the new leader will drive business success by effectively implementing strategies that align with the organization's aims and objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Director of Communications to create, adapt, and deliver a cohesive Communications Strategy across internal and external channels.
  • Translate the company and function-level strategies into actionable communication objectives and plans
  • Understand and embrace the opportunity to influence the company’s culture and morale.
  • Maintain an informed knowledge of the oil and gas industry, including offshore drilling and future technology developments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, leaders, champions, and influencers; understand their motivations, perspectives, and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a 'seat at the table' with functional leaders to guide and inform their communications strategy; be the thought leader
  • Manage and deliver function- and campaign-specific communications plans; set clear objectives and develop an action-oriented plan to achieve them.
  • Manage and produce various publications, newsletters, copy for websites, press releases, presentations, and articles, and conduct meetings to share information, where needed.
  • Manage and produce digital content including video, podcasts, social media, interactive PowerPoint.
  • Embrace continuous learning and utilization of new communication technologies including the use of Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality.
  • Lead and support special projects as the need arises.
  • Manage other team members and contractors delivering special Communications projects and campaigns; monitor and manage their performance.

  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of the Communications Operating Model.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree qualified of 2.1 or above or 6+ years of experience in a related field
  • Managed teams and/or projects of 2+ people and/or $100K budget
  • BOSIET certification or willingness to get certified
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proficient to fluent in the management and use of Content Management Systems (SharePoint), Adobe Design Suite (Indesign, Photoshop), and social media (Instagram, LinkedIn) desired
  • Drilling and/or other Oil & Gas experience preferred
  • Listens to be heard.
  • Highly articulate individual with excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to produce high volume, quality communication to tight timescales and budgets
  • Ability to adapt amid evolving priorities
  • End to end delivery - milestones/deliverables tracking, used to working to marketing/comms production schedules is translatable to this
  • Proven track record of stakeholder engagement/management - influencing & shifting mindsets
  • Ability to travel, including overseas and offshore
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
