Job Description
Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Raw Material Testing & Qualification:
- Conduct analytical and physical testing on resins, fibers, fillers, catalysts, and other raw materials used in FRPM pipe production.
- Utilize analytical techniques such as viscometry, titration, and rheology, as well as other instrumental analysis to assess material properties and quality.
- Approve and qualify raw materials based on ASTM, ISO, and internal specifications before production use.
- Assist in resolving raw material quality issues and implementation of corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
- 1-2+ years in raw material testing, performance testing, or quality control within a composite, or polymer manufacturing environment
- Bilingual in Spanish and English with fluent proficiency required (both written and spoken)
- Candidates with significant, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
- Experience with polymer chemistry, thermosetting resins, and curing processes
- Familiarity with mechanical testing equipment (universal test machines)
- Strong knowledge of ASTM, ISO, and industry-specific standards for composite materials
- Strong communication skills in both languages required to effectively engage with diverse teams
- Problem Solving: Ability to analyze test results, investigate material failures, and recommend corrective actions
- Attention to Detail: Ability to detect subtle variation in material properties and performance
- Communication: Strong reporting and collaboration skills with production, R&D, and other teams
- Safety Awareness: Strong adherence to chemical and mechanical safety protocols
- Operates in an office and lab setting
- May involve working with tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities
- Thrive in an intense, do-it-yourself, manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well within a cross-functional team environment and diverse communities
