CNC Machinist

Job Description
A leading manufacturer of gaskets, industrial seals, and compression-molded plastics is seeking a CNC Machinist to support precision manufacturing of high-performance components. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in oil and gas machining and a strong command of CNC operations. Working collaboratively, the new team member will ensure product quality by programming equipment, selecting tooling, and machining parts to exact specifications while adhering to safety standards and production timelines.

Location:Â Tomball, TX 77375
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Hours: M-F, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Program computers or electronic instruments, such as numerically controlled machine tools, using Mastercam.
- Prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance.
- Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.
- Ensure that the production time of machinery parts is communicated to the appropriate department.
- Update previous programs to ensure maximum efficiency and fastest run times possible to make a quality part.
- Report true run times onto router paperwork.
- Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, milling machines.
- Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
- Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Support plastic working projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, plastic properties, and mathematics.
- Create drawings and convert third party drawings into manufacturable parts for the Gasket Shop Department once properly trained.
- Ensure that all work areas and machines are clean.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- One-year certificate from a Machinist Trade School preferred
- 5-7 years of machinist experience required
- Must have 5–10 years of experience machining parts for the oil and gas industry, specifically working with metal components and rings used in compressors
- Experience with precision machining of oilfield-grade materials is required
