Job Description

A leading manufacturer of specialized pumps and custom fluid handling systems is looking for a Buyer to manage the sourcing and procurement of parts and materials required for projects. The ideal candidate possesses experience in purchasing, a background in manufacturing or fabrication, and proficiency in resource management systems for procurement functions. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will improve business performance by executing high-quality, cost-efficient purchasing strategies and adhering to established procurement policies.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the sourcing and procurement of all parts and materials needed for projects, including raw material and finished assemblies.
Interface with multiple internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
Support multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

1-5 years of experience in progressive roles in similar product/market environments
A background with purchasing and a background in manufacturing/fabrication is a plus
Strengths in the use of a business enterprise resource management system for purchasing functions, as well as a familiarity with the use of Microsoft Excel and reading engineering drawings
Familiarity with ASME piping and/or ASME pressure vessel code is a plus
Familiarity with material test reports (MTRs) is a plus
Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Strong customer-focused mindset
A keen sense of detail, as well as a high level of responsiveness
