Job Description

A leading provider of advanced engineering technology services is seeking an Actuation and Instrument Technician to perform detailed assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of pneumatic and hydraulic actuators and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and mechanically inclined technician with strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical schematics. Working with minimal supervision, the new team member will contribute to operational excellence by ensuring all equipment is built and maintained to exacting standards while supporting safety, quality, and compliance across all work scopes.

Location: Houston, TX 77092
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Strip, inspect, and overhaul pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. Pressure and function test pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. Pressure and function test valves.
  • Assemble new actuators per OEM procedures.
  • Assemble instruments and controls.
  • Troubleshoot actuator issues and faults.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and work instructions.
  • Execute risk assessments and hazard assessments on all related work scopes.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Depending on the company and specific role, may be required to travel to different locations
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Proficient use of manual and mechanical torque equipment skills
  • Proficient use of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
