Job Description

A well-established Company in the Houston area is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to oversee the accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate is a proficient communicator with expertise in accounts payable and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Establish procedures to create efficient and streamlined AP processes.
  • Identify process deficiencies and implement changes to improve the AP cycle.
  • Establish relationships with vendors to assist with obtaining discounts based on volume purchased and/or prompt payment terms.
  • Reconcile accounts with vendors monthly.
  • Manage employee and company credit card program.
  • Review all invoices in the system verifying accuracy.
  • Generate check runs on weekly basis, and coordinate with other accounting groups to ensure disbursements are made properly.
  • Maintain confidentiality on company financial matters.
  • Ensure 1099 and tax related matters pertaining to vendors are handled appropriately and timely.

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable position
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in AP operations across multiple entities or subsidiaries within an organization.
