Location:Â Central Houston, TX 77092
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting team's operations, ensuring efficient and accurate performance.
- Implement and train accounting staff on policies and procedures that comply with governmental, financial, and tax regulations, as well as GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Monitor and evaluate accounting systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring timely reporting.
- Lead staffing responsibilities, including interviewing candidates, conducting annual reviews, and setting employee goals.
- Assist in the budget process, conducting variance analysis on financial reports.
- Maintain communication with vendors to address any financial matters.
- Oversee the accounts payable process, including preparing weekly cash disbursement approvals.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
- Ensure the timely completion of month-end closing processes and reporting deadlines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years Accounting experience
- 3+ years in a leadership role
- Experience in Accounting within the Healthcare Industry (Laboratory, Services) strongly preferred
- Financial Statement Analysis experience; strong knowledge GAAP standards
- Accounting Software and ERP Systems
