Job Description
A leading company in the security and video surveillance industry is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and assisting the CFO, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented, results-driven professional with a strong background in accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, and cash collections. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Perform journal entries, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and month/quarter/year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with audits (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Receive, review, and post daily invoices from vendors.
- Verify approvals from operations team and resolve discrepancies.
- Process checks and maintain proper approval documentation for CFO signature.
- Process payroll for 60+ employees via Paycom (salary semi-monthly, hourly bi-weekly).
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely submissions.
- Record daily customer payments (checks, credit cards, ACH).
- Prepare and deposit funds daily.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns across multiple entities.
- Manage annual property tax renditions.
- Utilize QuickBooks and industry-specific rental software.
- Support transition to NetSuite (January 1); prior NetSuite experience preferred.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal department heads.
- Provide support to ensure smooth operations and resolve accounting-related inquiries.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred (Texas universities a plus)
- 3–5 years of full-charge bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (intermediate level)
- Experience with Paycom Payroll Processing strongly preferred
- Exposure to NetSuite is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
