Job Description
Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to assist the Accounting and AP departments. The ideal candidate thoroughly understands general accounting and has solid expertise in accounts payable methods, principles, and best practices.Â

Location:Â Houston, TX
Type of Position:Â Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify invoices to match with required back-up documents.Â
- Code expenses and invoices to correct accounts/cost center.Â
- Get approval and enter invoices into the system in a timely manner.Â
- Prepare and perform weekly check runs and wire transfers, if applicable.Â
- Monitor vendor accounts to verify if all invoices have been received.Â
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor files electronically by saving invoices and checks.Â
- Maintain open purchase orders and unbilled receivers.Â
- Prepare/analyze month end accruals for monthly closing process.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, and 3+ years Accounts Payable or general accounting experience a plus
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and proficient in data entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, information management skills and attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to be organized and set priorities, use sound judgment and meet deadlines
- Work in a team environment that is fast-paced and ever-changing
