Job Description

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to lead all aspects of financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset. Working collaboratively, the new leader will support organizational goals by managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate reporting while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and cross-functional decision-making.

Location: Houston, TX 77086
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. 
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
  • Produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management.
  • Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Work with external auditors and provide the information needed for the annual audit.
  • File quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Ten years or more of related experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Syteline experience preferred
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Able to travel as needed
