Job Description
A leading firm is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee and strengthen its regulatory compliance program. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented compliance professional with private equity experience and a strong understanding of SEC regulations. Working collaboratively, the new hire will support firm-wide compliance by overseeing policies, monitoring activities, and supporting internal teams.

Responsibilities:
- Build, enhance, and administer the firm’s compliance infrastructure to ensure alignment with applicable laws, SEC regulations, and industry standards.
- Perform ongoing assessments to identify regulatory and operational compliance exposures, recommending practical mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate adherence to internal policies and external requirements; prepare clear, concise updates for leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
- Lead compliance education initiatives to reinforce regulatory knowledge, ethical standards, and firm-wide accountability.
- Manage investigations into potential policy breaches or regulatory concerns, implementing corrective action plans where appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with investment, finance, investor relations, and operations teams to embed compliance practices into daily business processes.
- Execute periodic compliance testing and control reviews to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation of compliance activities, regulatory filings, and internal reviews.
- Act as a key contact for regulatory examinations, inquiries, and ongoing communications with oversight bodies.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize compliance technology platforms to improve monitoring capabilities and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., compliance-related credential) preferred.
- 5–7+ years of experience in private fund or investment adviser compliance, ideally within private equity or alternative asset management.
- Working knowledge of SEC regulations and regulatory expectations applicable to registered investment advisers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across departments and with external regulators.
- Demonstrated analytical capability with sound judgment in evaluating regulatory risk and recommending solutions
- High attention to detail with disciplined recordkeeping practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ethical foundation and commitment to maintaining the firm’s integrity and reputation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
