Job Description

A leading company specializing in industrial filtration solutions is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in accounting principles and financial reporting. Working collaboratively, the new team member will enhance business efficiency by managing transactions, assisting with month-end closings, and ensuring compliance with company policies while supporting financial reporting and operational accuracy.   
 
Salary + Additional Benefits:

Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Handle the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, inventory, and fixed assets.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by tracking and analyzing financial performance.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
  • Help maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for payroll processing and related accounting functions as needed.
  • Work with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to streamlining accounting workflows.
  • Assist with Company and medical insurance and workers compensation.
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or small business environment
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or NetSuite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices and cost accounting is a plus
