Accountant (Contract)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a short-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, with a focus on balance sheet reconciliations and system-based accounting work. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Location:Â Montgomery, TX or Greater Houston Area
Position Type:Â Contract - 1 month (with potential to extend)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work within the Northstar accounting system to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end close activities.
- Utilize MS Excel to analyze, organize, and present financial data.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on reconciliations
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.)
- Experience with Northstar or similar accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
