Location:Â Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and continuously improve, processes, and efficiently manage the month-end close process while accurately overseeing monthly financial statements and management financial reports, ensuring accurate reporting to the Group team based in the UK.
- Manage accounting staff, including accounting and finance functions, with management of cost, general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, and payroll.
- Develop and distribute financial reports and profitability analysis by division, product line, and franchisee (volume, price, costing, gross margin, etc.).
- Analyze current costs and look for continuous opportunities to improve processes and margins regarding operations, including procurement and freight cost.
- Support the development of company and departmental budgets/forecasts, standard costing, and variance analysis as well as review of labor, material, and overhead costs.
- Support the development of business cases for new products, new customer opportunities, etc.
- Provide analytical support (metrics) – maintain, analyze, and report data based on business requirements; develop reports and analyze trends, causes, and variances; formulate conclusions and provide summary analysis for management.
- Maintain/audit information system financial data to ensure quality data behind the reporting and analysis processes and support annual audit.
- Maintain internal financial controls and financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily cash management.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements as well as providing support on group corporate legal entity re-organizations.
- Assist with the set-up of new legal entities in Australia and the USA.
- Help the company to thrive by driving growth and profitability.
- Effectively participate in strategic discussions and long-term financial planning and analysis.
- Ensure continuous improvement of EBITDA margin and G&A expenses as a percentage of revenue.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance, CPA, or CFA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years accounting and/or finance experience with 3+ in an upper-level position
- Strong expertise in all areas of process improvement, budgeting, cost accounting
- A focus on turn around, continuous improvement, and LEAN processes
- High degree of flexibility to react to an environment of growth and change
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with multiple business functions and roles
- Experience with an ERP implementation preferred
