Job Description
A well-established custom spring manufacturing company is seeking a Grinder Operator to manage the setup and operation of spring-end grinding machines, deburring equipment, and shot peening equipment. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with extensive knowledge and proficiency in various types of grinders. Under the direct supervision of the Grinding Department Supervisor, the new team member will ensure operational excellence by performing duties efficiently and adhering to the company's safety standards and the manufacturers' manuals and guidelines.

Schedule: M-F 4PM- 2AM 2nd shift

Responsibilities:
- Comply with all safety standards and rules, including proper PPE.
- Maintain clean & organized work area.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned machines.
- Achieve standard of 100% efficiency.
- Follow & utilize Misquote Work Instructions.
- Comply with all quality standards and rules, including properly filling out first article reports and following Charting Working Instructions.
- Achieve standard of 98% quality acceptance percentage.
- Has complete understanding of reporting requirements by properly following JobBoss Workstation Driver Working Instructions.
- Limit scrap material to a minimum.
- Assist with the training of operators as directed by supervisor to produce high level results.
- Responsible for observing safety and security procedures as applicable and reporting potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Requirements:
- Complete understanding and competence of all crush style grinders
- Complete understanding and competence of all downfeed style grinders
- Complete understanding and competence of all single end style grinders
- Complete understanding and competence of all shot peen equipment.
- Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable
- Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Gather and analyze information skillfully; Develop alternative solutions; Work well in group problem-solving situations
- Technical Skills - Assess own strengths and weaknesses; Pursue training and development opportunities; Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills; Share expertise with others
- Communication - Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills: JobBoss Workstation Driver
- Forklift License
