Job Description

A global, not-for-profit, industry-owned organization is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to manage all aspects of the regional team responsible for the approval processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong planning, budgeting, project management, and organizational skills and demonstrates knowledge of emergency response legislation, regulations, and standards. Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the new leader will drive operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and world-class quality by effectively implementing quality assurance processes while upholding values of integrity, excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Responsibilities: 
  • Undertake own duties with little supervision, setting own and team targets and objectives in line with delivering against stated business objectives in the annual business plan.
  • Responsible for overall planning of the activities associated with the role, ensuring that resources are deployed on an efficient and cost-effective basis.
  • Staff are fully developed, assessed, and deemed competent for the task as set i.e., auditing.
  • Develop and implement auditing activities, ensuring close out of any subsequent remedial action.
  • Manage the annual schedule of training centers for a specific region.
  • Responsible for the provision of support services for other regions as required.
  • Undertake special projects as appropriate and fulfill other duties as may reasonably be required by the company, in line with the incumbent’s skills, knowledge, abilities, and personal development opportunities.
  • Operational (Including Technical)
    • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the industry standards and other approval criteria e.g., CMS and Company Approval criteria.
    • Manage and monitor the integrity and effectiveness of the staff development programs when building specialist competence.
    • Manage and monitor the integrity of the Quality Assurance process to ensure it meets its performance standards.
    • Facilitation of pan industry meetings and Work Groups.
    • Responsible for the marketing and development of Company Approval as a global industry standard.
    • Attend various working groups or meetings.
    • Conduct both initial and monitoring audits (Ongoing site visits) as and when required.
    • Conduct desktop audits as and when required.
    • Have day-to-day operational responsibility for all human resource allocated to the Quality Assurance function.
    • Have instruction and monitoring responsibility for quality of service provided by all staff within the standards & Quality Assurance Function.
    •  Responsible for client management.
    • Regular and frequent travel within the region and occasionally beyond.
    • Undertake special projects as appropriate and fulfill other duties as may reasonably be required by the company, in line with the incumbent’s skills, knowledge, abilities, and personal development opportunities.
  • Transactional (Relevant to Support Roles)
    • Approval of Centers delivering training/assessment to company standards.
    • Approval of employers against the Competence Management System criteria.
    • Technical contribution to the review of standards and development of new standards, including internal operating standards and approval criteria review.
    • Marketing and development of the value of Company quality Assurance process as an industry recognized standard for both training /assessment centers and competence management system approval.
    • Management and development of the Quality Assurance Team.
    • Contribution to industry workgroups as a representative of the company.
    • Conduct of both Ongoing (monitoring) and initial site visits (audits) on Centers.
    • Conduct of desk top audits in line with quality assurance process requirements.
    • Manage training center forums and support industry forums.
    • Adhere to the organization’s quality management system.
    • Compilation of and adherence to the Approvals departmental budget.
  • Health & Safety / Quality Assurance
    • Responsible for ensuring that approved training delivered to all energy industry employees is to the specified requirements of the industry and in a safe environment.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with applicable Health & Safety and legislation, and that personnel are not subjected to situations of unacceptable risk.
    • Ensure staff are competent to undertake duties.
    • Deliver departmental activities in line with the organization’s quality management system.
  • People Management
    • Develop and maintain effective and progressive working relationships with all internal colleagues as well as identified external stakeholders.
    • Hold no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR Management/Professional Qualification as a minimum standard
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
  • Demonstrable and significant experience of operating in the Oil & Gas or wider Energy Industry 
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and influencing skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Organization’s key business drivers from both an operational and commercial perspective
  • Strong planning, budgeting, project management, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of emergency response legislation, regulations, and standards
  • Knowledge of safety and competence in the Oil and Gas and wider Energy Industry
  • Demonstrable management experience and sound knowledge of management systems and processes
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and working with auditing processes
  • Appreciation of and ability to articulate at all levels, the value of competence to enhance organizational performance
  • Strong demonstrable leadership skills
  • Ability to plan projects and organize the work of self and others in achieving outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience in maintaining and building business networks
  • Demonstrable experience of client management with strong business awareness
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Good team working skills
  • IT literate with experience of MS Office
