Job Description

A leading company in the electronic manufacturing industry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes and ensure efficient, high-quality assembly of electronic products. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering professional with a background in electrical or mechanical systems, process improvement, and project management. Working collaboratively, the new team member will contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence by developing and implementing manufacturing procedures while ensuring compliance and supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Waller, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities: 
  • Will be direct line of communication between production and engineering.
  • Liaise with R&D department to review new product designs and documentation to ensure they are production ready.
  • Work with shop floor technicians to ensure compliance to design documentation and identify and resolve systematic quality or productivity issues.
  • Develop, deploy, and debug manufacturing methods, tools and equipment that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safety. 
  • Continual improvement and oversite of manufacturing process documentation by assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures. 
  • Utilize best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in identifying equipment needs on the production floor and evaluating internal and external options for sourcing such equipment. 
  • Analyze product failures, test for reliability and recommend process and design improvements based upon findings.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.
  • Generate and/or modify component and assembly drawings using Inventor. 
  • Meet with Production Manager / Sales to review new designs in order to determine customer’s needs, materials required, due dates, special processing, testing, and manufacturability of products.
  • Oversee and work with Production Manager and manufacturing to advise on first manufacturing run effectiveness.
  • Observe or participate in the adjustment or repair of finished part/products to attain specified functional performance.
  • Write and execute process and equipment validations. 
  • Work with the Internal Audit team to perform annual schedule of quality system audits. 
  • Work with external vendors as needed.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement for all processes.
  • Support, cost estimate, and document all engineering changes.
  • Immediately inform Management of any potential quality issues, warranty risks, customer conflicts, etc.
  • Document all activities as required.
  • Perform any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.

Requirements:
  • BS or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical/electronic manufacturing or assembly processes
  • Demonstrated success in process improvements and project management
  • Working knowledge of electronics product assembly (PCBA and product level)
  • ISO 9001 experience
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment
  • CAD experience (Inventor, AutoCAD) is desirable
  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
  • Good mechanical / technical skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent leadership & teamwork abilities, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
