Job Description

Our client, a privately owned manufacturing organization with international facilities, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join their team. The role involves inspection of finished products, reading engineering drawings and BOMs, and ensuring document control accuracy. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical or electronic inspection and offers a collaborative environment with growth opportunities.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect finished assembled products including rectifiers, inverters, and PC boards, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, BOMs, and schematics.
  • Perform all visual inspections, requiring no specialized tools, while ensuring correct revisions and part number documentation.
  • Maintain rigorous document control, verifying the accuracy of paperwork and revisions, which is still paper-based.
  • Conduct electrical/electronic inspections to verify wiring, testing, high pot procedures, and use of multimeters such as Fluke.
  • Read and interpret engineer drawings, schematics, and BOMs to ensure inspection accuracy.
  • Document findings clearly and accurately, recording inspection results and discrepancies.
  • Ensure inspection work is completed accurately and timely, preventing defective units from progressing through production.
  • Follow established quality procedures and uphold compliance standards within the manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with production and management teams to address quality issues and improve inspection processes.
  • Support document control procedures and ensure all revisions to instructions and reports are correctly implemented.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on quality standards and requirements.
  • Assist with calibration of tools and meters used during inspections, maintaining calibration records and scheduling repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to, including strict phone policy and safe work practices.
  • Sign off on units as the final quality check, owning responsibility for product quality at final inspection.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical or electronic inspection, testing, or assembly.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineer drawings, BOMs, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections and verify documentation without specialized tools.
  • Electrical background preferred but not required; familiarity with electrical testing procedures and tools like Fluke multimeters is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Excellent communication and confidence in standing ground on quality feedback, especially among a diverse workforce.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical.
  • CPIM certification is a plus.
