Job Description

A global chemical distribution company is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join its Houston-based operations team. This opportunity offers exposure to a high-volume, fast-moving environment. The Logistics Coordinator will oversee the full order lifecycle, partnering closely with internal commercial teams, customers, warehouses, and transportation providers to ensure efficient product movement and exceptional service execution.

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Process customer orders and enter transactions into the ERP system accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide day-to-day customer support throughout the order-to-delivery process.
  • Coordinate shipment scheduling, including pickup and delivery timelines with carriers, rail providers, and third-party warehouses.
  • Monitor active and completed shipments to ensure timely product movement and proper return of railcars.
  • Maintain detailed order tracking and reporting for internal commercial teams.
  • Generate and distribute shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Analysis, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists.
  • Support resolution of shipment discrepancies, delivery issues, and claims.
  • Set up and maintain customer records within the ERP platform.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and logistics partners in a high-volume environment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-5 years of experience within logistics, supply chain, chemical distribution, plastics/resins, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating railcar shipments required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within ERP systems required; JDE or SAP experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across customers, warehouses, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed with strong follow-through skills.
  • Ability to proactively identify operational issues and support process improvements.
