Job Description
A fast-growing global industrial valve manufacturer is seeking an Outside Sales professional to join the team for their power division. This role supports business development across major power energy end users and engineering firms in the power industry. The Outside Sales professional is responsible for promoting the company's world class valve manufacturing capabilities and driving sales across clean coal, natural gas, combined cycle, and nuclear power sectors, with inside sales support provided for both MRO and project opportunities.

Responsibilities:
- Prospect, qualify, and build relationships with existing and new customers to generate sales and provide exemplary customer relations within assigned territory.
- Work with major power energy end users and various engineering firms supporting small cap-X and large cap-X projects in the power industry.
- Maximize product coverage by continuous promotion of new products and business solutions to customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and headquarters to set the overall commercial strategy for customers, including product selection, pricing, margins, and market segment.
- Review customer inquiry documentation to determine appropriate product selection, including creation of order notations related to exceptions or deviations.
- Review detailed and complete quotation bid packages to ensure technical compliance with project specifications and commercial profitability and market competitiveness.
- Respond to requests from customers for information, including written clarification on quotation and purchase order requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide sales quotations on stock inventory within prescribed pricing parameters, manage order processing, and assist with customers' technical questions.
- Maintain sound business relationships by visiting customers on a regular basis.
- Manage key customer risk, including overdue payment expediting, major organization changes, complaints, etc.
- Prepare monthly sales update reporting, including customer visit action items and outcomes, status of larger/successful purchase orders, and critical industry news and trends.
- Prepare quarterly progress updates on accounts' sales.
- Update CRM system with necessary customer and sales information on a regular basis.
- Ensure all customer entertainment expenses abide by corporate policies and ethical standards.
- Assist with product presentations, trade show participation, product training, and customer visits.
- Remain knowledgeable and current on company and industry changes and developments.
Requirements:
- Significant outside sales experience working with major power energy end users and engineering firms supporting small cap-X and large cap-X power projects required
- Experience selling valves in forged and cast steel body materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, duplex, super duplex, and other special materials
- Experience in clean coal, natural gas, combined cycle, and/or nuclear power sectors preferred
- Familiarity with N stamp certification for nuclear ball valves a plus
- Proven track record of business development and account management in the power industry
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
- Experience using CRM systems
- Ability to travel as required
