A leading energy company is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer
Location: Sacramento, California (relocation provided)
Direct Hire (No C2C available)
Seeking an Engineer with oil and gas process or chemical plant experience, who performs routine assignments independently and can manage/direct staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical solutions for the detail of design of process systems based around the Company’s proprietary technology
- Assist in planning and reviewing of technical work and maintaining project schedules and work plans
- Oversee simulation studies and heat & mass balance sheets
- Develop and review PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) to suit process requirements
- Conduct H&MB modeling using ChemCad and other process simulation tools
- Create and develop proposal and inquiry documents, detail design and specify for purposes of quotation, purchase and manufacture
- Evaluate vendor proposals and reply to bid clarifications
- Make vendor recommendations
- Participate in single and inter-discipline checks and reviews
- Understand common place industry materials and their application
- Travel to project sites to oversee engineering, construction, and operations of the Company’s plants
- Travel required as dictated by project needs
Skills / Qualifications
- BS in Chemical or Process Engineering is required; Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering is preferred
- PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Process Engineering and Design management and possesses well developed knowledge of process engineering principles and practices along with understanding of project execution and process involvement
- Experience with oil and gas process or chemical projects and development of process design packages deliverables such as simulation modeling, equipment datasheets, P&ID development, relief valve calculations, etc. is required
- Experience wth plant operations of oil and gas or chemical processes.
- Knowledge of process simulation (Hysys, Unisim etc)
- Served as Director on a project with demonstrated success in delivering quality process deliverables according to project schedule and budget
- Has knowledge of the process discipline and has general knowledge of other engineering disciplines
- Has a understanding of instrumentation and its use
- Working knowledge of alternative, advanced principles and techniques of process engineering and knowledge of competing and alternative design techniques
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, theorems and mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
- Able to perform routine process tasks and deliverables with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted)
