Land GIS Analyst

Compensation: $30/Hour

Location: Downtown

Contract-To-Hire

Position is responsible for performing GIS Mapping, data analysis, and data maintenance within an enterprise GIS environment. Provide mapping assistance to Land but not limited to Land. Working with Land staff on preparing exhibits, presentation maps, and lease mapping. Compile and manipulate data from multiple data sources to create proprietary data for mapping. Review field survey plats to update ArcSDE layers. Publish webmap layers periodically.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing GIS Mapping, data analysis and data maintenance within an enterprise GIS environment
  • Provide mapping assistance to Land but not limited to Land
  • Work with Land staff on preparing exhibits, presentation maps and lease mapping
  • Compile and manipulate data from multiple data sources to create proprietary data for mapping

  • Responsible for providing mapping, drafting and graphics support to meet the business objectives of the Company, and including but not limited to special projects, A&D, engineering, geoscience, and operations departments
  • Compile and maintain lease maps, utilizing multiple data sources including shape files, geo-databases, public and proprietary databases and aerial and satellite imagery.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in GIS Technology (Bachelor’s Degree in Geography or related field preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience working with ArcGIS, AutoCAD and other graphic arts software
  • Thorough knowledge of technical application, concepts, principles and theories in GIS
  • Working knowledge of GIS technical processes and routines for the delivery of quality GIS and cartographic work products
  • Working knowledge of reviewing and analyzing Leases, Assignments, Deeds, Mineral Run Sheets, Title Opinions, Abstracts of Title, and Easements
  • Ability to map metes & bounds and create polygons from legal descriptions in Oil & Gas Lease file
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete work assigned by supervisor in high stress environment to meet deadlines
  • Applied experience with ESRI software, especially the ArcGIS suite:  ArcMap, ArcCatalog and ArcTools
  • Proficient in ArcGIS 10.3 or higher and experience with Python scripting a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other graphic and presentation applications such as, AdobePro, Photoshop and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas Land terms and documents a plus
