Senior Instrumentation Engineer


A full-service engineering solutions company focusing in the midstream sector and works on projects from cradle to grave, is looking for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. All qualified candidate are encouraged to apply.

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: SW Houston

Position Salary: Base Salary; Market (Depending on Experience) + Potential Bonus


  • Design and develop electrical controls & instrumentation schematics based on the project needs and process design documentation
  • Follow customer's specifications during the design phase.
  • Interact with the customer representative throughout the design process to ensure that all the client's needs are met.
  • Work with Sales, Engineers and potential customers to determine optimal solutions for automating their applications.
  • Develop Bill of Materials for applications.
  • Develop cable schedules and conduit layouts if required by the project
  • Develop construction scopes of work for installation contractors.
  • Work with installation contractors during the installation.
  • Assist clients with onsite bid walks for contractors.
  • Assist in field start-ups and I/O checks by travelling to client locations.
  • Review drawings of other Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers.
  • Estimate design and execution time for sales proposals.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. Professional Engineering license is a plus  
  • 10 + years’ experience of equivalent experience, preferably in the midstream sector
  • Must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to interact and build relationships with internal employees, contractors, and clients
  • Must have extensive experience with AC & DC motor drives, PLC’s, HMI’s, I/O hardware, MCCs, industrial control networks, analog and digital I/O devices and wiring
  • 10 + years’ Experience using AutoCAD and understanding of schematic drawings/electrical package experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of industry codes and standards is required
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team and must be results oriented and innovative
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to visualize a process or system from concept to development
  • Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel up to the field up to 10%
