Senior I&E Designer

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Houston, TX (West)

Position Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 (Deepening on Experience)


  • Work directly with engineers and project managers to produce computer-aided drafting and design drawings from specifications, source control drawings, sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior level personnel
  • Develop project deliverables in accordance with company, client, and industry standards.
  • Create complex electrical and control schematics.
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free. Adhere to department and company policies, processes, and procedures.


  • High School diploma/GED a minimum; Trade school / associate’s degree or higher education is preferred.
  • Must have 6+ years of design experience with electrical and control system design projects in industrial applications.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required, experience with Microsoft Access is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NEC, API-RP500, IEEE, API-RP552, and other industry codes and standards is required.
  • Capable of interpreting and producing motor control schematics, protective relay schematics, and 1-line diagrams.
  • Able to work with project management and engineering personnel to develop conceptual designs for bid purposes.
  • Able to review project documentation, specifications, and scope of work and identify missing design information.
  • Willing to travel to perform site walk-downs and facility As-Builts.
  • Capable of producing field sketches and generate designs from information collected.
  • Able to work directly with shop personnel to problem solve or mitigate changes.
  • Able to check the work of other designers for accuracy. Self-sufficient and detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask in a challenging and dynamic working environment.
  • Great customer service, organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
