Work Environment

Working conditions are typical for industrial operations and industrial construction projects at client facilities. Substantial time working outdoors is required, as is work at heights and in congested work areas. Work schedule can include nights, weekends, and extended periods of travel.



  • 5 years of experience in onsite support of projects in industrial facilities required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with client management teams.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and reasoning abilities. Understanding of GPS coordinate systems.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, process control, instrumentation, or electronics is strongly desired.
  • Passionate about solving complex problems in the energy field.
  • Orientation toward results and customer satisfaction; ability to perform self-directed work and work through technical and IT issues as they occur.
  • High degree of curiosity, ability to self-teach and proven track record, both on and off the job
  • Ability to persevere and succeed in difficult conditions related to physical environment, extended work hours, and client expectations.
  • Strong personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, with ability to maintain strong communication and written project reporting (both internal and external)
  • Document project results and lessons learned to verify performance and identify additional development needs. Adapt SOPs and develop new SOPs as necessary.
  • Proactively communicate project needs to SmartConnect Management Team.
  • Manage SmartConnect Technician(s) and mentor them into SmartConnect project work.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly plan for SmartConnect configuration updates with Client
  • Implement hardware and software solution on new and existing customer sites. Follow existing SOPs, develop new project logistics SOPs.
  • Ensure operational configuration is kept up to date in SmartConnect Portal to align with changing workforce and leading edge of project.
  • Foster user adoption through time in field and proactive communication with workforce.Offer safety and productivity insights to Clients based on results of connected worker solution.
  • Interact with Clients at management and crew level to foster customer satisfaction and SMC brand reputation.
  • Ability to learn /become proficient in new software programs, graphical user interfaces and cell-phone based apps
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as new/developing software and applications
