Project Engineer

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: NE Houston, TX 

Position Pay: $70,000 - $110,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Requirements:

  • Work with project engineering including process requirements, develop specifications, data sheets, review vendor quotes, review drawings, etc. 
  • Work with capital equipment which involve silos, heat exchanger, fans, compressors, blowers, sheet metal fabricated items, rotating equipment, feeders, piping, control valves, instrument air components, etc.
  • Read, understand, and develop: Process flow diagrams, P & ID, equipment mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, plant layout drawing, piping layout and isometrics.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or some other related technical background; Master’s degree Preferred  
  • Minimum 2+ years plus working experience in project engineering with capital projects, manufacturing / systems / and plant engineering.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components like motors, solenoids, PLC control systems
  • Prior experience in project engineering including understanding of process requirements, develop specifications and data sheets, review vendor quotes, review drawings, etc. Equipment involved silos, heat exchanger, fans, compressors, blowers, sheet metal fabricated items, rotating equipment, feeders, piping, control valves, instrument air components 
  • Strong ability to read, understand, develop: Process flow diagrams, P & ID, equipment mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, plant layout drawing, piping layout and isometrics.
  • Chemical, petrochemical equipment / plant experience preferred.
  • Experience in material handling systems (pneumatic conveying systems) a major plus.
  • Experience in extrusion system a major plus.
