Project Engineer

Summary;

A fast-paced manufacturer with an established background on a domestic and international basis is looking for a qualified Project Engineer to help lead their team. All Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.  

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Austin, TX

Position Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 Base Salary (Depending on Experience) + Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Responsibilities:

  • The project engineer must have a complete understanding of BOM management, soldering, debugging instruments and basic circuit design.
  • Needs to have a hands-on approach in order to debug current and future designs and the ability to learn new techniques.
  • Oversee all engineering projects, manage and schedule orders with outside vendors, manage and guide engineering teams, acting liaison between internal departments, vendors and customers.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be able to effectively manage vendors on a Domestic and International basis
  • BOM Management: upload, release, and manage internal Bill of Materials system
  • Building and evaluate first article prototypes for form, fit, and function
  • Debug current product issues from customer level to vendor level
  • Work with customers to resolve issues both in the field and over the phone

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar related Technical degree
  • 3+ years’ experience in Project Management, preferably in manufacturing of PCB or similar related components 
  • Knowledge in BOM Management
  • Strong commitment to schedule and quality
  • Background experience in Soldering and soldering techniques is required for the role; IPC 610 certification is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are a must
  • Lead a fast-paced engineering team that is constantly creating exciting new products
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be able to effectively manage vendors
  • Must be able to travel domestically to client’s project sites as needed, about 10% of the time
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. D.O.D. security clearance for the role
