Seeking a Project Design Engineer

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Salary: $60,000 – $100,000

Responsibilities:

  • To produce accurate BOM’s, layout and fabrication drawings for projects and manage and liaise with customers and suppliers on design specifics/aesthetics & plant requirements
  • Manage small design projects from concept, design, support build and installation
  • Focus on reducing cost and cycle time on current plant equipment
  • Co-ordinate with all departments relative to all aspects of design
  • Co-ordinate with senior designers to support the sales team through preliminary technical specifications, site visits and technical advice on the products/process.
  • Liaison with Suppliers to ensure design is per manufacturing capabilities
  • Co-ordinate and update Senior Designers and Design Manager on project status.
  • Participate in Quality reviews and processes
  • Follow design processes and procedures to ensure high quality drawings and BOM’s are in line with company processes
  • Ensure drawings are with-in local standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to HR and H&S policies
  • Develop skills and knowledge to be able to manage and design Projects from initial sales contact through sign off to customer

Requirements:

  • Good level of secondary education with high degree of numeracy and literacy
  • Educated in an Engineering discipline   
  • Experience with Solid works and AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
  • Experience in BOM Creation, Draughting, Design for manufacture
  • Steel Fabrication experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Design office
  • Product improvement experience
  • Product research and development
  • Site experience
  • Computer literate in Windows based Software Products and proficient with AutoCAD and Solid edge experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Ability to coordinate with manufacturers
  • Aptitudes to develop skills to manage design project
  • FEMA experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently
