Project Controls / Procurement Specialist

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: NW Houston, TX

Position Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 (Depending on experience) + Profit Sharing  


  • Support Marketing and Sales and Engineering Departments in generation of conceptual cost estimates for standard and non-standard work products including but not limited to both Division products
  • Generate and maintain Bill Of Materials from design basis
  • Generate task package planning and scheduling in accordance with company policies
  • Organize and maintain existing BOM and scheduling records
  • Review and Vet reported time from shop laborers
  • Establish, update, and maintain a database of vendors from existing vendor lists from Sage and Global Shop
  • Lead the procurement of raw materials, outsourced components, and new equipment
  • Lead maintaining project scheduling and workflow development
  • Support project management in managing time and expenses
  • Provide training on Global Shop components to others as needed.
  • Support shop efforts as needed as a fitter/welder/assembler once all other duties are complete
  • Other activities as required by the company to expand or optimize business lines, or maximize profit


  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited university is required
  • 2+ years equivalent experience is required for the role
  • Must have the ability to read design and shop drawings and perform quantity take-offs from design and shop drawings
  • Ability to develop working Bill of Materials (BOM) lists from historic works is required for the role
  • Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Working Knowledge of a Fabrication and Machine Shop Workflow Process is required
  • Working Knowledge of Global Shop Solutions Software and JIT is a plus
  • Understanding of Scheduling and Planning Software
  • Ability to acquire new time and resource management skills
  • Ability to comprehend and apply company processes for materials acquisition
